Trudie Stanley
Family and Business Support Coordinator
FaB Mentors
https://pir.sa.gov.au/funding_and_support/fabm

Trudie has a farming background having grown up on a farm in the Mid North. She has worked in regional communities involved with Landcare and natural resource management and spent 15 years working in the Northern and Yorke region based at Clare.

Since moving to the city her work enables her to continue to connect with rural and regional communities and to focus on wellbeing and mental health.

Trudie works in PIRSA’s Recovery and Resilience team as the Family and Business Support Coordinator and in this role works with a network of people that are located across the state who are available to support primary producers when things get a bit tough.

The Family and Business (FaB) Mentor service is:
Free, confidential, independent, experienced (Mentors have a variety of regional business and agricultural backgrounds)

FaB Mentors have the time to listen and can support primary producers to help them to take action for themselves.   They are not a clinical counsellor or business advisor but someone who will hear you out and talk things through and be a ‘sounding board’ and connect to services such as:
  • financial counselling
  • local health networks
  • funding and support measures available to primary producers
  • emotional wellbeing and counselling services
  • government and non-government assistance
  • community organisations and assistance

Connect directly with the FaB mentor in your area or the recovery team
Recovery Hotline: 1800 931 314

Ifarmwell
ifarmwell is a free online tool kit to help farmers cope effectively with life’s challenges and get the most out of every day, regardless of the circumstances they face.
https://ifarmwell.com.au/register
This website has been designed by Australian farmers for Australian farmers.

ifarmwell help farmers to cope effectively with life’s challenges and get the most out of every day. It does this by sharing practical ways of coping with difficult circumstances, thoughts and feelings (especially worries about things you can’t control) and helping you to work out where it is most useful for you to put your attention and energy.

You can do this from the privacy of your home, tractor or shed. The site will even send you text message reminders to keep you focused, but the best part about it is it’s free!
