Langhorne Creek

The Follett family has been embedded in Langhorne Creek for the past century, making a living off many years of dairy farming before transitioning over to winemaking under the Lake Breeze label in the 90’s. Eldest son Managing Director Roger, Winemaker Greg and Vineyard Manager Tim have built on the foundation laid by their dad Ken, running their ever-growing business alongside a list of other family members, with its nexus based around candid kitchen table conversations, food and rude jokes served by matriarch, Marlene. This is a chat about navigating the complexities of family dynamics in the industry, getting along, and getting ready for the next generation.
Here’s Greg, Tim and Rog…

Lake Breeze winemaker profile: Greg Follett – Young Gun of Wine
The Handpicked Festival
ROGER FOLLETT - Managing Director- Roger, the eldest of the Follett boys, is General Manager and handles the sales and distribution for Lake Breeze, both domestic and international.

GREG FOLLETT - Winemaker- Greg believes his greatest assets are the old vines on the property and the concentrated fruit they produce, enabling him to take a minimalist approach to winemaking and allows the fruit to speak for itself.

TIM FOLLETT - Vineyard Manager- As Vineyard Manager, Tim is responsible for ensuring the fruit available for the Lake Breeze label is of the highest quality.

Lake Breeze has earned an enviable reputation for consistently producing outstanding wines.
We've been grape growers in Langhorne Creek for over 130 years and winemakers since 1987.
Our vineyards were established back in the late 1880's, when Arthur Follett planted the first vines on the property.  Three generations later, the vineyards are producing outstanding fruit and Lake Breeze is making trophy winning wines.

Only the best 40% of fruit is selected from the older vines on the property, to create wines with amazing depth of flavour. These wines include the highly acclaimed 'Bernoota', Cabernet Sauvignon, Arthur's Reserve and Winemaker's Selection Shiraz labels.

Our Lake Breeze wines have enjoyed enormous success over the past 30 years, accumulating an extraordinary 60 trophies and over 180 gold medals at major Australian wine shows.
Our charming cellar door incorporates a contemporary eating area, including an upstairs deck with stunning views of our family's old vineyard from one of the best vantage points in the district. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine over a long lunch.
The spotlight is thrown on Lake Breeze each November when we hold our Handpicked Festival.  We've become a vibrant location for weddings, parties and food and wine celebrations set amongst the picturesque vineyards, roses and towering gum trees.
Lake Breeze offers visitors to the region an extensive Langhorne Creek experience with cellar door tastings, lunch menu and The Creek Cottage bed + breakfast.
