Simonit & Sirch- Spring Shoot Thinning Workshop
The Spring Workshop is a one day activity that focuses on the importance of the shoots selection on the vines structural development as well as on the grapes quality and distribution.
During the presentation, the four principles of the Simonit&Sirch methodology are also discussed, analyzing the correlation in between winter pruning and spring shoot thinning on the establishment of long lasting and resilient vine structures.
Following the classroom presentation, a practical demonstration is going to show to the participants how to observe, approach and shoot thin the vines following the principles of the Simonit&Sirch methodology, also answering to the main questions.
This workshop is valued at $330 (includes lunch) and has been highly subsidised at a cost of $35 per participant (excl GST)
We kindly ask each participant to wear appropriate work gear for the day (work clothes, protective glasses/goggles, harvesting snips, gloves)
The shoot thinning demonstration will happen even if it rains, therefore having a raincoat in the car is highly recommended. Everyone will be asked to take a footbath (organized for the day) before entering the vineyard.
