Rachel is a Governance and regulatory specialist with more than 25 years of experience across the Australian grape and wine sector. She holds a Bachelor of Laws, aBachelor of Science (Jurisprudence/Genetics), and aMaster of Oenologyfrom the University of Adelaide, as well as aDiploma in European Union Wine Law from the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne.
A qualified winemaker and lawyer, Rachel’s career spans technical winemaking in Australia, the United States and Italy, corporate legal practice specialising in wine law, and a decade of senior executive roles at Wine Australia, where she led national export regulation, international market‑access strategy and ESG programs.
Rachel has represented Australia internationally through the OIV, World Wine Trade Group, International Wine Law Association and FIVS, and she contributes to the global knowledge base as a co‑author of Global Wine Regulation and contributing author to the Oxford Companion to Wine. She also serves on the International Wine Law Association (AIDV) as both President of the Australasian Section and a member of its International Board, contributing to global legal and regulatory dialogue in the wine sector, and is the Chair of Australian Women in Wine, advocating for diversity and leadership across the industry.
