Steve Fox Region Seven: Currency Creek, Kangaroo Island, McLaren Vale, Southern Fleurieu and Fleurieu Other
Steve was raised on a small vineyard in Sunraysia before an engineering career in the water sector took him to leadership roles on water, wastewater and irrigation infrastructure projects in Victoria, NSW, South Australia and Western Australia, followed by various corporate roles.
He also served for 10 years on the Board of the Australian National Committee on Large Dams (ANCOLD), including as Chair and represented Australia on technical committees of the International Commission on Large dams.
As a McLaren Vale vineyard owner, the past few vintages have been challenging and Steve has a direct interest in addressing the issues facing growers and the wider industry.
Our industry needs to continually adapt to regulatory, climatic, consumer and community change whilst not losing the essence of why we are here.
It all starts with grower’s ongoing viability, vitality and adaptation to changing consumer preference. Steve brings a practical, people focussed approach and welcomes any opportunity to hear from growers and the wider industry on the best ways forward.
Steve was elected to the Wine Grape Council of SA in October 2025.
