Nick has been involved with farming all his life, growing up on a farm on the Eyre Peninsula. 16 years ago, he made the foray into grapes, purchasing a vineyard in McLaren Vale. Nick is a hands-on grower, producing grapes for various wine companies as well as his own brand, Price’s Wines.
Nick understands the issues and challenges faced by growers. This includes the financial viability and vulnerability of vineyards as well as growing for supply to a major wine company. As well, he understands the complexities involved in growing premium grapes and the challenges of achieving diversified income from value-adding grape growing by developing wine products.
Nick also has more than 25 years of experience running a branding agency, Nicknack. This has resulted in a valuable understanding of branding, marketing and communication media. Nick was elected to the Wine Grape Council of SA in October 2020 as the McLaren Vale Committee Member and then moved to Independent Committee Member in December 2022.
